Last week we asked people to answer a simple question, or rather, to simply finish this sentence “I remember…”
We got some evocative responses:
I remember turning one or two dials on the television to change the channel.
Yes! Oppressive times.
I remember getting in trouble for leaving repeated and extremely long answering machine messages for my friend Kelly, because her family was the first to get an answering machine and we all thought it was the coolest thing ever.
I always wanted an answering machine, because James Rockford had one in “The Rockford Files.” I also wanted to live in a mobile home like he did. It seemed so high class.
I remember wondering when the police would solve the mystery of who shot JR.
That was good TV. Not really.
“I remember being told to tuck in my shirt tail.”
You must have gone to catholic school.
I remember the smell of freshly mimeographed pages.
I loved that! With the purple ink! Smelled like… victory.
This week Tom was talking about Dads and Fathers-In-Law. (yeah, that’s how you write the plural. You can look it up.) Share with us some of the things your dad has said to you. Keep it clean- this is a family show. Think of it as “S+*## (stuff) My Dad Says”
